ACTIVITIES

Project Activities we intend to develop

We have developed a plan for the project activities, but this will be tailored to the volunteers that participate in the project. Ideas will be developed in working groups with Staff, Pre School members, local volunteers and the target groups, and will therefore reflect their skills and interests.

Activities

In the UK the volunteers will be in the Pre School throughout the project working alongside local volunteers, staff, Pre School Members with the children. In Czech Republic the volunteers will be in the organisation and will work with the organisation to have experiences with kindergarten and other child care settings. The focus will be on Art and Craft projects and sharing knowledge and experiences of our cultures.

Art and Craft

Creation of murals and art work in the outdoor areas within the organisations. Using Forest School and environmental methodology we will use natural resources from the local area, both in the countryside and coastal beaches to create and take inspiration for the outdoor art and craft.

Cultural events

Working together to prepare for local cultural events and festivals (flower arrangements and model making)

Social events and activities

We aim to immerse the groups into the local communities by encouraging participation in cultural activities (music, theatre) and other activities such as walking, sewing, pottery and other local community groups.

Evaluation, comparison and best practice

Visiting groups and volunteers will be requested to compare local methods, equipment, activities and if possible to make recommendations based on own experiences.

Promotion of Senior Volunteering and Active Ageing

In both partner countries the volunteers will be asked to make short presentations and to talk about their experiences and engage with their local communities alongside the organisations’ staff.

Project management and development planning

The volunteers will be invited to join in all aspects of the organisations’ daily activities including meetings of Staff and Committees. If the volunteers are interested in this part of the organisations’ daily life then they will be offered opportunities to assist (websites, developing and creating publicity materials).
